Why a new (second) account?
I have to start answering this question by talking about my first post’s image. I chose this photo because it really describes how I felt for a while. This self portrait was taken two weeks before Summer passed away in September 2020. She was my best friend for more than 15 years and it wasn't easy to let her go. Summer was a huge part of my life and she always will be.
"I needed a new direction. I realized I needed to go back to my roots."
Standing on that beach, knowing the inevitable is coming, I realized that I am looking into the future without her by my side, and that I will have to step back and do some soul searching to find out where I am going from here. I needed a new direction. Later on, I tried to figure out what it is and I realized I needed to go back to my roots.
Prague (Praha), my love
I am originally from the Czech Republic. It’s a beautiful country full of history, culture and art. I grew up surrounded by black and white photography. I lived in Prague and worked in downtown where every building is an extraordinary piece of art, where you find an inspiration on every corner. All of this influenced my taste and style.

Working with my clients over the past years was wonderful and I enjoyed it very much. Seeing their happy and emotional faces when I was delivering their photos filled my heart like nothing else. However, I felt I also want to play more and create images following my heart more than the rules. Because I love the connection with my clients and I enjoy working one on one, I decided to offer boudoir/intimate portraits. I want to connect with women and help them really see and appreciate themselves as they are. I believe I can relate to many of them when it comes to body image, ageing and all the changes we are going through in different stages of our lives. I will talk about that and about what intimate portraits mean to me in the future posts and my blog.
First, I thought I will combine my portrait and boudoir/intimate portraits on one social media account. After an agonizing process of weighing pro’s and con’s, I decided to have a separate account.
To keep it consistent and to make it easy to find me, the name will be summer_co_creative.
I felt it will give me the creative freedom I need. I want this account to be a place where I post without any pressure or any anxiety of being judged. I want to post images which bring me joy. I want to share my style of photography and experimental (for me) images. I want to post my thoughts as well as light jokes and quotes. I know the marketing experts tell us to be consistent with our captions and photos, so our followers know what to expect. They definitely know what they are talking about and they are right.
But… the purpose of this account is not competing for likes and followers, but to connect with real people. Real people who know that every day life is not consistent either. There are days when we are on the top of the world, there are days when we are down and don’t want to get up, and there are days in between. And I want my account to be like that.
Join me on my journey or come to visit sometimes. I will be happy to have you there.
